Harley Rifkin | Technical Services Engineer

For Technical Services Engineer, Harley Rifkin, the decision to join the Crispin team was an easy one. With an extensive background in broadcasting, he was familiar with both the products and the company and had even used the Crispin software at one of his previous station jobs. He says, “After working with the products myself in the past, it’s really neat to be on the other side of it now, offering technical support to our customers.”

As a self-proclaimed television nerd, Harley has always been interested in learning about how things work behind the scenes. After going to broadcasting school, he worked in master control roles and even served as a broadcast technician on the Goodyear blimp for a bit. “We flew over some pretty exciting events, like the College Football National Championship Game, the Oscars, and a few Daytona 500s. Ultimately, it was a cool experience, but I wanted to focus less on aviation and more on my true passion, broadcasting,” he explains.

Originally from South Florida, Harley lived around the state before making the move to Raleigh, NC when he joined Crispin. A fan of getting out and enjoying nature, he’s looking forward to enjoying the changing seasons and being just a short drive away from both the mountains and the beach. Harley says, “Although I sometimes miss my beach community in Ft. Lauderdale, I can’t wait to check out the North Carolina coast. There’s nothing better than spending time on the beach and just getting away from it all.”

When he’s not working, Harley enjoys cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning and Orlando City Soccer Club. In a previous broadcasting logistics role, he did some work for Major League Soccer, so he’s looking forward to getting back to enjoying soccer as just a fan, instead of a broadcaster.

He also enjoys playing video games like the Grand Theft Auto series, traveling, watching sports car/endurance racing and attending music festivals to see his favorite group, Above & Beyond.
