Sarah Doss | Software Developer

Software Developer, Sarah Doss, has always had a passion for working with computers, though it wasn’t the original career path she chose. While she initially graduated from UVA with a degree in Biology and spent her days working in labs, computer science was always there in the back of her mind.

“From a young age, I’d always enjoyed playing around with computers, learning simple HTML and CSS. I wasn’t feeling fulfilled working in a lab and eventually, I started to think more seriously about pursuing a new career. I knew this was the perfect opportunity to finally make the switch to a job in computer science,” she explains.

Once Sarah graduated from Oregon State with a degree in Computer Science, she joined the Crispin team and officially embarked on her new career. In her role as a Software Developer, she spends her days looking through code, troubleshooting issues, and implementing fixes for our suite of products.

She goes on to say, “It’s very satisfying to go through the process of identifying issues and problem-solving to fix them. That passion I’ve felt for working with computers since I was a kid is stronger than ever and this role feels like the perfect fit.”

Originally from Danville, VA, Sarah moved to Raleigh in 2019, where she spends her free time playing video games, fine-tuning her drawing skills, and exploring nature trails. An avid D&D player, Sarah enjoys participating in raids with friends and creating character-based art.

An animal lover, Sarah is also passionate about watching and feeding birds. One of her proudest accomplishments is rescuing an injured starling, nursing it back to health, and finding a home for it. “I’ve always been interested in ornithology, and it was really rewarding to use that knowledge to help a bird in need,” she says.
